TV Remote

TV Remote is a TenBytes Ltd. utility for controlling compatible Android TV and Google TV devices on your local network. The app does not create user accounts, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or collect, sell or share personal data with TenBytes or an app backend.

The app processes TV names, local IP addresses, pairing information, app preferences, remote commands and text you choose to send to your TV. Discovery, pairing and control take place directly between your phone and the compatible TV. Pairing information and preferences are stored locally on the phone. Text sent to an app on your TV may also be handled by that app or service under its own privacy practices.

Network and nearby Wi-Fi permissions support local device discovery and connection. TV Remote does not use these permissions to determine your physical location. Pairing and control use encrypted local connections supported by the Android TV remote protocol.

You can forget a paired device in TV Remote. Clearing the app's storage removes its locally stored pairing information and preferences. TenBytes does not retain app user data on its servers and has no cloud account to delete. For questions, contact info@tenbytes.io.

The website services described below apply when you open this website or contact us; they are not integrated into TV Remote.

Website enquiries and analytics

We use the name, email, optional company and message you submit to respond to your enquiry and any resulting business discussion. Please do not include passwords or sensitive personal information. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.

Cloudflare hosts the website and processes requests to deliver pages and protect the form. Cloudflare Turnstile checks for automated submissions invisibly in the background. This necessary form protection works independently of your analytics choice. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details of its data processing. Our form rate limits use keyed hashes of the request IP and email. The form sends your details, page language, referral source and campaign to Brevo, where we keep your email in the TenBytes contact list and a separate note for each enquiry. Brevo sends a notification to our business email. Cloudflare and Brevo may process data outside the EU under their applicable data protection terms.

Only with your permission, PostHog EU receives page visits, device categories, referral domains, campaign labels, sections viewed and steps towards submitting a form. We do not send names, email addresses, company names, messages or URL query strings to PostHog. We use a random identifier kept only in memory for that page visit, with no analytics cookies, user profiles, automatic click capture or session recordings. IP enrichment is disabled and events use a masked IP. PostHog EU stores analytics in the EU.

Analytics stays off until you choose “Agree”. Refuse or withdraw using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page; the contact form works either way. Your analytics choice is stored locally in the browser for 180 days. A separate first-party cookie remembers a language you explicitly choose for one year. Permission previously given for Google Analytics does not enable PostHog.

Access to enquiries is limited to our authorised accounts. We keep them while needed for your enquiry, related business discussions and applicable recordkeeping obligations, and remove them when no longer required. Contact us for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, or to withdraw analytics permission. You may complain to your local data protection authority; in Bulgaria this is the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
